We invite you to explore Győr and its stunning surroundings.
A Few Words About Our Town
Győr is located at the confluence of three rivers: the Mosoni Danube, the Rába, and the Marcal. Known as a true Baroque town, Győr blends historic charm with modern attractions. The city offers a wide range of sights, both indoor and outdoor events, and entertainment options that make it a delightful destination, day and night.
Győr also enjoys a prime location in Europe: it is equidistant from three major capital cities: Bratislava (78 km), Budapest (120 km), and Vienna (121 km). These vibrant cities are within easy reach, making Győr an ideal base for travelers, including motorcyclists, who enjoy exploring Europe’s cultural treasures. For American and Australian guests, it’s an excellent way to see three iconic cities in one trip while leaving their motorbikes in a safe place.
Nearby Attractions
If you're looking for a more scenic route rather than driving on the motorway, we highly recommend exploring the beautiful Hungarian landscape. Here are some must-visit destinations near Győr:
- Pannonhalma: Home to Hungary’s largest Benedictine Abbey, founded in 996, and a town known for its church, vineyards, distilleries, and impressive library.
- Lake Balaton: The largest freshwater lake in Central Europe. Whether you travel by motorbike, car, or bicycle, a journey around the lake covers about 200 km. Along the way, visit destinations like Tihany Abbey, Balatonfüred, Festetics Castle in Keszthely, Siófok, and the Kőrishegy Viaduct.
- Sümeg: A historic town famous for its Sümeg Fortress, which dates back to the time of Béla IV, following the Mongol invasion. The fortress was a strategic site during the Rákóczi War of Independence and played an essential role in Hungary’s history. Sümeg is now a popular tourist destination and part of the Balaton Uplands region.
These are just a few of the many exciting places you can explore from Győr. There are countless other fascinating destinations we’d be happy to recommend to our guests.
